On Monday, March 16, 2026, the Commandant/Rector of "Henri Coandă" Air Force Academy, Air Flotilla General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marius Șerbeszki, opened the Common Module "Hybrid Threats," organized within the Line of Development LoD-21 of the Implementation Group (IG) of the European Initiative for the Exchange of Young Military Officers (EMILYO) and the European Security and Defence College in Brussels.
The Common Module "Hybrid Threats" is organized by "Henri Coandă" Air Force Academy in partnership with "Georgi Benkovski" Air Force Academy in Dolna Mitropolia/Pleven, Bulgaria, and the Air Force University in Dęblin, Poland.
Within this module, students from the three institutions, as well as from the University Centre of Defence in Zaragoza, Spain, the "Dr. Franjo Tuđman" Defence and Security University in Zagreb and Split, Croatia, and "Nicolae Bălcescu" Land Forces Academy in Sibiu, Romania, follow a program designed to familiarize them with terminology specific to hybrid warfare and hybrid threats, and, most importantly, to maintain a proactive orientation regarding the dynamics of contemporary theatres of operations/battlefields and current military and strategic thinking.
The opening was also attended by faculty members: Col. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cosmina-Oana Roman, Vice-Rector for International Relations; Col. Prof. Dr. Adrian Lesenciuc, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and Digitalization and coordinator of the "Hybrid Threats" module; Prof. Dr. Răzvan Andronic; and Cpt. Asst. Lect. George Aionesei.
