‘Henri Coandă’ Air Force Academy (AFA), Romania will host the CoMind Project Launch Conference on April 20th, 2022, 10.00 AM. The purposes of the meeting are: (1) launching the CoMind Project, (2) offering a short description of the project, including the intellectual outputs, (3) presenting the partners: University South-Eastern in Norway (USN), USN School of Business, Institute of Business, Strategy and Political Sciences and the Association Society of Military Psychology, and (4) presenting the main objectives and related activities.

Professors, researchers and students from ‘Henri Coandă’ Air Force Academy and partner universities are invited to attend the event.

CoMind Transnational project meeting #1, Drammen, Norway

University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), USN School of Business, Institute of Business, Strategy and Political Sciences, Drammen, Norway will host the first CoMind Transnational project meeting between 4th and 7th of April, 2022. The purpose of the meeting is reaching a common understanding of the concepts combat mindset and MSCS and preparing the further effort. The main objectives of the event are: (1) To have an in-depth understanding of how combat mindset training is put into practice in Norway, in order to replicate it with AFA's Students; (2) To establish technical details for MSCS adaptation to Romanian language (by ASPM's experts); (3) To visit USN in order that AFA's rector will be able to talk about future collaboration; (4) To visit the Norwegian Military Academy in order that AFA's rector will be able to talk about future collaboration (TBD); (5) To discuss further data collection using the Romanian version of MSCS Romania on different military populations.

Marius Serbeszki & Razvan-Lucian Andronic (AFA), Doru Vasile Marineanu & Călin Catalin (ASPM), Gillian Warner-Søderholm, Ole Boe, Easa Sabedeh, Jacob Rørvik & Emmy Warner Søderholm (USN) are invited to take part to this CoMind Transnational project meeting.

Implementation preparation and general/ detailed planning

On Thursday, March 31, 2002, the Implementation preparation and general/ detailed planning meeting took place at the headquarters of ‘Henri Coandă’ Air Force Academy. During this meeting the project manager presented the integrated project management plan, including sub-activities, detailed description of each sub-activity, allocated resources and means of verification. Also, the plan included aspects regarding the risk management, the financial management and monitoring, assessment and continuous promotion of the project.

The Conference „The Muldimensional Self-Control Scale (MSCN): Development and Validation” held by professor Fredrik Andre Nilsen in “Henri Coandă” Air Force Academy

“Henri Coandă” Air Force Academy in Brașov hosted on Monday, October 17, at the opening of the “Train-the-Trainer” session, the conference of professor Fredrik Andre Nilsen, PhD, from Norwegian Military Academy, on “The Muldimensional Self-Control Scale (MSCN): Development and Validation”. Also, professor Nilsen presented the leadership training program within the Norwegian Military Academy, with a focus on the objectives and curricular contents of training military leaders. The event took place in the amphitheater F 3.4, and was opened by the speech of Col (AF) Assoc Prof Marius Șerbeszki, PhD, commandant (rector) of “Henri Coandă” Air Force Academy. The event was attended by teaching and military staff from the host academy and from “Carol I” National Defense University, Bucharest, “Mircea cel Bătrân” Naval Academy, Constanța, “Nicolae Bălcescu” Land Forces Academy, Sibiu, “Ferdinand I” Military Technical Academy, Bucharest, but also by members of the Combat Mindset Training for Romanian Military Students (CoMind) project team, including Capt (r) professor Ole Boe, PhD, from the University of South-Eastern Norway, Drammen/ Police Academy, Oslo, Norway, and Col Vasile Doru Marineanu, the president of the Military Psychology Society Association.

“The Muldimensional Self-Control Scale (MSCN)” is a psychological tool adapted and implemented through CoMind project, coordinated by “Henri Coandă” Air Force Academy, in partnership with the University of South-Eastern Norway, Drammen and Military Psychology Society Association, and financed by Norwegian/ SEE Grants.

CoMind „Train-the-Trainer” session, coordinated by professor Ole Boe in “Henri Coandă” Air Force Academy

“Henri Coandă” Air Force Academy in Brașov hosted on October 17-18 the “Train-the-Trainer” session, coordinated by professor Ole Boe, PhD, from the University of South-Eastern Norway, Drammen/ Police Academy, Oslo, Norway. Teaching and military personnel from “Henri Coandă” Air Force Academy, “Carol I” National Defense University, “Mircea cel Bătrân” Naval Academy, “Nicolae Bălcescu” Land Forces Academy and “Ferdinand I” Military Technical Academy participated in the session, but also students from the host university. Ole Boe is a former officer in the Norwegian army, PhD in psychology at the University of Gothenburg, professor of military leadership, with extensive educational and research experience, co-author of the well-known book “Krav Maga. Combat Mindset & Fighting Stress. How to Perform under Alarming and Stressful Conditions”, based on which he prepared the training session for military instructions.

The event was included in the calendar of the Combat Mindset Training for Romanian Military Students (CoMind) project, coordinated by “Henri Coandă” Air Force Academy, in partnership with the University of South-Eastern Norway, Drammen and Military Psychology Society Association, and financed by Norwegian/ SEE Grants.
